Giving back to the communities that make us great.
At Fergus & Bix, we believe it’s the communities we’re in that makes us great. Because of that, we understand the importance for us to give back and to be actively involved in the communities in which we operate. In 2010 we developed “The Charity Tap” program to do just that. With every sale of our feature beer, we take 50¢ and donate it towards a select local charity or community initiative. Since the program’s inception, the Fergus & Bix group of restaurants has contributed over $50,000 towards worthy causes.
Our Current Causes
Canmore
Hope for Kids (Ryan Carrington Foundation)
Hope for Kids is a heartfelt, community-driven charity in Canmore dedicated to supporting local families raising children with chronic health conditions. Born from compassion and community spirit, the foundation exists to lighten the load for families facing ongoing medical challenges by offering practical support; from helping with travel costs and essential expenses to connecting families with resources and medical contacts that make treatment journeys more manageable.
In addition to tangible assistance like grocery and gas cards, ready-to-eat meals, accommodation support for hospital stays, and care packages filled with essentials, Hope for Kids also nurtures connection through monthly meet-ups where children and their caregivers can share a meal, play and build friendships in a safe, supportive space.
All services are provided free of charge, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to compassion, dignity, and community solidarity for Bow Valley families.

The Alex
Fergus & Bix is proud to support The Alex; a dynamic Calgary-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building healthier, more connected communities by meeting people where they are and walking alongside them toward wellness. For nearly five decades, The Alex has delivered innovative, integrated programs that support physical health, mental wellbeing, housing stability, and social connection. Through community health centres, youth-focused services, mobile medical and dental care, housing supports, and peer-led programs, The Alex removes barriers and creates inclusive spaces where individuals and families can thrive. Its work is grounded in dignity, compassion, and a deep belief in community strength. From healthcare and prevention to food access and skill building, The Alex focuses on practical solutions that foster resilience and belonging. By addressing immediate needs while supporting long-term stability, The Alex plays a vital role in creating a more equitable, healthy, and hopeful Calgary.
